Zakk Wylde: Lead Guitar Style Analysis

The content of this page was originally published in Guitar Interactive Issue 32

For the cover feature of GI Magazine Issue 32 I wrote a substantial style analysis lesson for one of my all-time biggest influences in the rock guitar world, Zakk Wylde. This was actually pulled together as something of a last-minute emergency as a favour for GI Magazine when original plans for the article fell through. I wrote, recorded and transcribed the piece in two days and then headed into the Lick Library studios to film the entire video lesson in one take. An intense couple of days!

Included below are the final track and backing track I created, all the video lessons plus a complete transcription of the piece for learning purposes. To read my full analysis of Zakk’s legendary style check out Issue 32 of Guitar Interactive magazine!
